The Annual Congress of Information Science Professionals (ISP) has been held  in Iran by the Iranian Library and Information Science Association(ILISA)  since 2015. It aims to complement academic conferences organized by scientific associations and universities across the country.

The congress will bring together researchers, academic staffs, students and professionals from all over the country to share their latest experience and findings in the field of information sciences and discuss the latest developments. It will also provide a unique platform for professionals to interact, learn, and exchange ideas, fostering new collaborations and partnerships. Therefore, it will be an informative and rewarding experience for all who attend.

Since 2015 seven congresses have been held in different themes:

• The 1^st annual congress of ISP. Information and Society: Library, Archives, and Museum Services for National Development, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Ebrahim Afshar (University of Isfahan);
• The 2^en annual congress of ISP. Open Access to Information as Citizenship Rights, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Fariborz Khosravi (National Library and Archives of Iran);
• The 3^rd annual congress of ISP. Preservation and Dissemination of Written and Digital Heritage, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Rahmatollah Fattahi (Ferdowsi University of Mashhad)
• The 4^th annual congress of ISP. University Education, Human Resource Empowerment and Profession Dynamic, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Rahmatollah Fattahi (Ferdowsi University of Mashhad);
• The 5^th annual congress of ISP. The Future and Us: Emerging Developments in Information Sciences, Libraries, and Archives, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Mohammad Zerehsaz (Kharazmi University);
• The 6^th annual congress of ISP. Digital Transformation and Us: Digital Transformation Strategies in Libraries, Archives, and Museum, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Mitra Samiee (Allameh Tabataba’i University);
• The 7^th annual congress of ISP. Entrepreneurship, Employment and Knowledge-Base Professional Business in Information Science: Towards the Future, Scientific Secretary: Dr. Mohammad Hassanzadeh (Tarbiat Modares University);

 The 8^th Annual Congress of Information Science Professionals (ISP) will be held at the National Library and Archives of I.R. of Iran in Tehran, Iran, 12-13 November 2024. The congress theme is “Information Sciences and Artificial Intelligence”. The Scientific Secretary is Dr. Amir Ghaebi (Alzahra University).
